Topic Description

Upon completion of this module, you should be able to know the history of the periodic table and identify these sections of the periodic table: periods, groups, families, metals, non-metals, and metalloids. For many years, scientists were aware of similarities between the physical and chemical properties of elements. A few scientists worked to classify the known elements based on this information. Although these scientists worked independently, they came up with similar results.
