Falls from height are a significant cause of injury at worksites worldwide. With proper training, defined processes, safety equipment, and personal fall protection systems, these incidents can often be prevented.
Background Primer & Activities:
A background primer provides critical information on height-related hazards, safety equipment, the five hierarchies of fall protection, and their associated risks. Then, participants engage in a sort-and-match activity to reinforce their knowledge of each risk. Embedded learning outcomes based on Bloom’s revised taxonomy include remembering, understanding, and applying.
Participant Simulation:
Explore a risk-free factory environment while learning to identify potential fall hazards and risks. Participants are tasked with identifying risks ranging from unmarked holes in the ground and broken equipment, to observing workers on ladders, scaffolds, and machinery without arrests or restraints. The simulation provides instant feedback with either “correct” or “try again” responses to encourage participants to reconsider their choices and allows them to revisit any part of the simulation as needed.
Benefits & Key Features:
• Instant feedback responses.
• Gamified training activities.
• Self-paced and repeatable.
• Realistic tools, equipment, and environment.
• Transferable skills can be directly applied in real-world scenarios.
